11th Annual Health Disparities Research Symposium | February 2016 | Our lab was invited to the Science of Health Disparities symposium at UAB (University of Alabama Birmingham) The UAB Health Disparities Research Symposium highlights the work of undergraduate, graduate, faculty, and community investigators in basic science, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences research, and community-based research related to health disparities. It will begin on April 21st, 2016. |
Acceptance into the Atlantis Project Fellowship | January 2016 | Oluwasina George Williams was accepted to the Atlantis Project shadowing program in Faial, Portugal for a 5-week experience beginning June 17 and ending July 23. He will be experiencing the European Healthcare system at Hospital Da Horta. He will be conducting medical research and addressing the pressing issues that affect medicine globally. He also gets a chance to teach the English language to the locals of Faial Portugal. |
Experimental Biology 2016 Abstract Confirmation of Acceptance | January 2016 | The American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP) 2016 Annual Meeting in conjunction with Experimental Biology has invited Angana Mukherjee and co-authors to present the review paper “Foxi3: A Sly Regulator of Bone Development, Promotes Prostate Cancer”, during convention. The theme of the ASIP 2016 Annual Meeting is Deciphering Disease Mechanisms and the Prevention and Treatment of Disease. |
3 Day Walk to End Breast Cancer | November 2015 | Dr. Jones walked 60 miles within a 3 day span in San Diego to raise money for breast cancer research. She not only shows her passion for this topic while she has a lab coat on, she displays in with her involvement in the community. |
